Mobile World Congress

The Mobile World Congress  is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry you need to attend. It gathers the key industry top-managers and CEOs under one roof. Mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors and content owners from across the world join their forces in evaluating the current achievements and future goals.

MWC is taking place in Barcelona and the next MWC dates are February 25-28, 2019. It is hosted at Fira Gran Via, one of the largest and most modern venues in Europe. This venue is perfect for the event as it combines outstanding architecture, functionality and commitment to sustainability in a beautiful package. The same goals mobile industry leaders set up for themselves.

The event is organized by GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association) who speaks on behalf of mobile operators worldwide, with combined over 800 operators with almost 300 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem. The list consists of handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organizations in adjacent industry sectors. The GSMA also produces industry-leading Mobile World Congress Shanghai, Mobile World Congress Americas and the Mobile 360 Series conferences.

The diversity of the outreach confirms that, unlike you may think, this conference is not only about new technology of the cellular phones. Topics cover IOT, connected cars, virtual reality, new handsets, 3D printing, privacy protection and backend solutions.

They even have their own GLOMOs Awards – the Oscars of the mobile industry! It recognizes breakthroughs and mobile innovations in every sector of the industry: automotive, health, retail, travel, education and smart cities, etc. There is a category for every player in the digital eco-system.

Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2018 was a huge success with:

107,000 Attendees

7,700 CEO’s

2,400 Exhibitors

MWC 2018 was all about 5G. The 5th generation of mobile telecom was revealed to be fundamentally different. 10 times faster than 4G, that is. Imagine being able to download an entire movie in 1 second and stream virtual reality without glitches. This new network will also enable self-driving cars and smart cities (electronic devices from your kitchen to the street).

These are the main reasons you should be attending MWC 2019
